Uttar Pradesh assembly elections results would change the discourse of the country from narrow divisive issues of caste and communal divisions to the issue of development. People of the State overwhelmingly voted for the BJP in 2014 Lok Sabha elections on the plank of development. There is no reason they would not vote on the same line at the assembly elections too. The BJP has come out with a comprehensive agenda for transformation of the State which has caught imagination of the people. Since the State is low on all indicators of development including law and order, people are looking at the BJP as a party of hope.
